West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue

We are very proud to have worked with the West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service on a number of projects including promoting their fantastic Young Fire Fighters scheme (which gets young people involved in what the service is all about as well as teaching them valuable team work skills).

In addition we also produced an interactive video that is used by the fire service in schools across West Yorkshire covering topics such as arson and road safety. The system allows its presenter to select different options depending on the viewers opinion and helps to teach school children vital safety tips, as well as understanding the dangers of arson (in particular setting fire to wheelie bins).

In the autumn of 2009 West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service opened their new community outreach training center, Safety Central. The aim of the site is to work in partnership with local agencies to actively engage with the community in order to provide safety training and resources for people of all ages to improve their lives.

For the opening of the center, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue wanted a film showcasing everything the center has to offer as well as looking back over the building and development of the site. This was to be shown at the launch to the local community and organisations as well as featuring on their website.

Liasing with the marketing team at Safety Central we devised a film that would encorporate footage filmed by our team and archive footage the marketing team had built up over the development of the site. We spent a week at the center filming with the staff and the people who came to the center to engage the training resources.

The end result was a feel good film showing how the fire service works closely with the local community to deliver fantastic training in a friendly and welcoming way. The launch of the site was a success and the center has continued to grow and reach more people in the community.
